Presidential Search Committee Sets Dates for Candidate Meetings

Regent James Dean Leavitt, chair of the University of Nevada, Reno President Search Committee, announced the upcoming dates for the University of Nevada, Reno President Search Committee meetings.

At the December meeting of the University of Nevada, Reno President Search Committee, the Committee engaged the services of William Funk, of R. William Funk, & Associates, as the consultant for this search.  Mr. Funk is currently performing the search for candidates.  After his search and due diligence is completed, Mr. Funk will bring semi-finalist candidates to the next Committee meeting for consideration by the Committee.

That meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that the finalists that are selected by the Committee that day will be invited and will participate in campus forums, for faculty, staff and the community to meet the candidates and to provide input to the consultant, on April 16 and 17.

The Committee will then reconvene on April 18 at 9 a.m. to hear from the consultant regarding those forums, and to conduct interviews with the finalists and to potentially select a candidate(s) to recommend to the full Board of Regents for consideration.  (April 19 at 8:00 a.m. will also be reserved and publicly noticed as a meeting date in case additional meeting time is needed.)

More detailed information regarding both meetings will be provided on the NSHE web site when the agendas are posted.
