Three finalists for University presidency to visit April 13, 16, 17

Three finalists for the presidency of the University of Nevada, Reno will be visiting campus on April 13, 16 and 17 for open forums: Dr. Steven Angle, Dr. Rachel Toni Algaze Croson and Dr. Marc Johnson.

All members of the University community and the community at large are invited to attend the forum that applies to their particular constituency. Included in the schedules for all three candidates are statewide webcast opportunities. Johnson is interim president of the University of Nevada, Reno. Johnson previously served as executive vice president and provost at the University. His campus visit is scheduled for Friday, April 13.

Angle is provost of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Angle previously served as dean of the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences and director of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Program at the University of California, Riverside. His campus visit is scheduled for Monday, April 16.

Croson is division director of the Division of Social and Economic Sciences, part of the National Science Foundation's Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences Directorate. Croson serves in this role while on leave from the University of Texas at Dallas where she served as professor and director of The Negotiations Center, a joint appointment between the School of Management and the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences. Her campus visit is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17.

Following the campus forums of the three finalists, the following search-related meetings will be held:

  • April 18-19: Search Committee interviews and selects a final candidate to recommend to the full Board of Regents;
  • April 20: Final candidate is recommended for consideration by the full Board of Regents.
