Carolla's excellent work ethic, enjoyment of work cited

David Carolla, an IT Technician in Information Technology, has been named November's Staff Employees Council (SEC) Classified Employee of the Month.

Carolla was cited by one nominator for his excellent personality and ability to solve problems.

"David's great attitude and helpfulness make him a true asset to the University community," wrote nominator Kathie Stanfield.

Carolla said he enjoys his work a great deal, particularly the wide range of people he deals with, as well as the varied tasks each day presents.

"I like working with such a diverse group of people," he said. "From co-workers to faculty to Police Services, I know it's never going to be a boring day. Facing new challenges in IT seem to come on a daily basis in this environment."

Carolla said if there is one place in the world he would vacation, it would be Italy.

"Sicily," he said of the particular area of Italy he would most enjoy visiting. "My grandfather came over (to the United States) in 1912 and left a large number of family there. I would like to find long-lost family and see where my family immigrated from."
