Lauren Eckroth, a University of Nevada, Reno student majoring in neuroscience and minoring in community health science, was recently part of a ceremony honoring the impact of the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) on the City of Viterbo, Italy. The city's mayor and a city council member made the presentation.
Eckroth is spending the semester in Viterbo as part of USAC. USAC has provided students with study abroad programs for nearly 30 years, in more than 20 countries through more than 35 programs.
In appreciation for the welcome, Eckroth passed along a University of Nevada, Reno banner to Mayor Giulio Marini and City Council for "Marketing and Territory" member Giovanni Bartoletti.
The mayor awarded USAC Viterbo with a certificate in recognition of the impact that USAC has had on the local community during its first six years of operation in Viterbo and at nearby Tuscia University.
