School of Medicine's free May clinic date announced

The University of Nevada School of Medicine's Student Outreach Clinic date for May has been scheduled for May 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. This is a general clinic serving adults and children and is the only free clinic scheduled for May.

Student Outreach Clinics are a free service providing much needed care for Washoe County's medically uninsured population. Clinics offer physicals for work or school, EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, referrals and selected lab services at discounted fees.

Under the direct supervision of licensed faculty and community physicians, medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine offer monthly Student Outreach Clinics providing free basic medical care. No appointment is necessary for clinic patients who are seen on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is strongly recommended. Spanish translators are available as needed.

Clinics are held at University Health System's Family Medicine Center, located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus just north of Mackay Stadium off of North Virginia Street. Take RTC bus route 7 to North Virginia Street or the free Sierra Spirit bus.
