University of Nevada, Reno faculty, students and staff are invited to attend a rally to “Save Our Public University” on Wednesday, March 2 on the University Quadrangle beginning at 5 p.m.

Sponsored by the Nevada Faculty Alliance, Associated Students of the University of Nevada, Reno and Staff Employees Council, the event is part of the National Day of Action in Support of Public Education. It will feature a walk around the Quad. Attendees are encouraged to wear University of Nevada, Reno clothing.

In a statement, organizers said they hope those attending will “help show the state and the world that we are united in our belief that education is good for Nevada.”

The event is scheduled to run from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m.
