Introducing Financial/Wellness Week, Feb. 17 – 24

The Benefits Office, in conjunction with the Faculty Senate, has developed a full calendar of activities and seminars for Financial/Wellness Week.  This year we are excited to offer seminars that cover many stages of an employee's financial journey through life. Seminars are planned on everything from budgeting and what to do if you are upside down on your mortgage, to college savings plans and making sure you are on track for retirement.

We are also pleased to announce a keynote speaker for this year's series, Chris Cox is the Owner and Chief Learning Officer of Amplitude, a company focused on amplifying the results of leaders and teams. She and the Amplitude team provide high-impact training, facilitation and coaching services to some of the nation's best and brightest companies and teams.  Chris will be presenting a keynote on "High Performance Living - Tools to Supercharge your Life".  In this session Chris will share some of the lessons she has learned from her experiences as a racecar driver, lessons like getting out of the driveway, looking where you want to go, having a personal pit crew and the lesson of passing. Chris has put these lessons into a high energy, motivational speech that will spark the passion in attendees to live the life of their dreams, whether that be embarking on retirement, enhancing one's career or exploring new opportunities.

The Faculty Senate Salary and Benefits Committee encourages you to utilize the resources on campus during Retirement Planning Week to develop (or update) your plan for retirement, review your investment strategy and meet with a retirement advisor to set savings and budgeting goals.  Take time out of your week to attend one of the seminars that are being conducted on campus.  A full schedule of events and registration information can be found at the Human Resources Events Calendar.  For those of you who are not on the Reno campus many of the sessions will be available through WIMBA Classroom.

In addition to the seminars and events, advisors from all three retirement plan sponsors will be on campus and available throughout the week to assist you in developing a plan for retirement, performing a retirement check-up and/or diversifying your portfolio.  Information on scheduling an appointment with a retirement advisor is available at the HR Retirement Counseling webpage.
