Nevada IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence grant renewed for $16 million

A $16 million grant over five years will continue to build Nevada’s biomedical research infrastructure. The National Center for Research Resources of the National Institutes of Health has renewed the Nevada IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence project, housed at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, through May 31, 2015.
School of Medicine microbiology faculty earn $3.97 million in grants

Cheryl Hug-English, M.D., MPH, has been named interim dean of the University of Nevada School of Medicine. A 1982 graduate of medical school who went on to earn a master’s in public health from UCLA, Hug-English most recently served as a clinical faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine and medical director of the University of Nevada, Reno’s Student Health Center.
