Mojave Mental Health, a component of the University of Nevada School of Medicine, is hosting a "Star Night" fundraiser at Spread Peace Café, 50 N. Sierra Street, Suite 106, in Reno this Saturday, December 4 at 7 p.m. This evening will be focused on shining a light on mental illness and honoring those who do so.
Awards will be given to State Senator (elect) Sheila Leslie, Officer Patrick O'Bryan of the Reno Police Department and the Northern Nevada Branch of the National Alliance of Mental Illness. In addition to recognizing these stars in the community, proceeds from the evening will go toward giving Mojave's clients, who are Medicaid fee-for-service recipients, a Christmas dinner and a small gift. All funds at this event will go directly to serve our clients who live with a serious mental illness and are isolated from the community at large. For many clients, Mojave is their only support in the community.
Dinner will start at 7 p.m. and awards will be announced at 8 p.m. Ten percent of food and beverage sales will go to Mojave if participants notify their wait staff that they are attending for Mojave.
