Deserving administrative faculty members at the University are eligible to be nominated as recipients of the University’s Distinguished Service Award for 2009.
The award recognizes outstanding administrative faculty members who are near the end of their campus career, and who have spent a substantial portion of their career in service to our University. Current members of the faculty and emeritus faculty members are eligible for nomination.
The Distinguished Service Award was initiated in 1996. It was established to “recognize members of the administrative faculty members who have made substantial contributions to the stature, reputation and quality of the university through service to the citizens of the state and/or the university community.”
Following are the four basic criteria used to identify the honored recipient:
The nominee has spent a substantial portion of his/her career at the University of Nevada, Reno and has demonstrated many years of devotion to serving this campus community.
Please accept this invitation to nominate an outstanding colleague for this consideration as the 2009 nominee. A written letter of nomination is required for all nominees. (Because the committee does not require any information from the nominees themselves, those submitting nominations are asked to keep the name of the nominee confidential.)
Letters of nominations also should include the names of persons who can substantiate the record the nominee’s achievement and can add information to the nomination.
All nominations should be submitted to Janet Sanderson, President’s Office, Mail Stop 0001 or e-mailed to her at jsanderson@unr.edu. Nominations should be marked confidential.
Deadline for nominations in April 10, 2009.
Any questions about the nomination process may be directed to Janet Sanderson at (775) 784-4805.
