The National Judicial College is seeking former jurors to participate in a judicial training for a large group of new General Jurisdiction judges coming from all over the United States. One of the topics for this judicial education course is "Juries". Former jurors meet with the judge who will teach the "Jury" session to the new judges on October 21 at 10:30 a.m. This will be a 50 minute session in the classroom. Beginning at 11:10 a.m, each juror briefly tells the new judges about the trial at which he/she served. The new judges are allowed to ask the former jurors questions regarding their juror service. This assists the new judges in dealing with jurors in their courtrooms. The former jurors may stay and have lunch with the judges and NJC staff if they desire. Call Verdene Johnson at (775) 327-8217 if you are willing to volunteer to assist in this valuable program. This session is facilitated by a faculty judge.
