Faculty International Development Award opportunities

The University Studies Abroad Consortium and the University of Nevada invite faculty and professional staff members who wish to participate in USAC sponsored study abroad programs to apply for a summer 2009 Faculty International Development Award (FIDA).

FIDA requirements are as follows:

:: Administrative (professional) and academic (must be full-time assistant, associate or full professors) faculty may apply.

:: Participants attend, as a student, for one summer session in order to gain an understanding of the full USAC study abroad experience including the curriculum, integration opportunities, faculty, housing and field trips.

:: 2009 Summer sessions available in: Chile, China (2 locations), Costa Rica (3 locations), Czech Republic, France-Session 1 only, Germany, Ghana, India, Italy (2 locations), Mexico or Spain (4 locations).

:: Grant contingent upon funding: tuition waiver and field trips included in program plus $2,000 to be used for airfare, etc. Housing, insurance, optional tours and additional course costs are not included in waiver.

:: Preference is given to applicants with limited international experience.

:: Applicants must be returning on contract to the University in 2009-2010.

:: There will be 4 awards offered for summer 2009 contingent upon funding.
