Philosophy hosts 'The Two Dogmas of Rationalism' presentation

The department of philosophy will host a Leonard Lecture featuring John Haugeland, the David B. and Clara E. Stern Professor and Chairman of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Chicago, will present "The Two Dogmas of Rationalism," Sept. 28, at 3 p.m. in the Edmund J. Cain Hall 108H.

Haugeland is credited with being one of America's most original and influential philosophers. He has written two books titled "Artificial Intelligence: The Very Idea" and "Having Thought: Essays in the Metaphysics of Mind."

Haugeland is the editor of Mind Design and was co-editor of "The Road Since Structure: Philosophical Essays, with an Autobiographical Interview." He has also published numerous articles in philosophy of mind, philosophy of science and Heidegger studies.
