Mackay School professor discusses mining safety, featured on NPR

Dan Taylor, associate professor of mining engineering in the Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, was recently featured on the National Public Radio show "On Point," which on Aug. 22 discussed the Crandall Canyon mine tragedy in Utah.

Taylor joined host Tom Ashbrook, as well as Jeff Brady, NPR correspondent, author Jeff Goodell and J. Davitt McAteer, former head of the Mine Health and Safety Administration under President Bill Clinton.

"On Point" discussed the lessons learned from the Utah mining disaster, which claimed nine lives, as well as mining and rescue techniques.
