John James, a longtime University professor of geography as well as state climatologist for the State of Nevada, passed away Monday following a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
During an on-campus interview in his cramped office in the Mackay Science Building in 1998, James noted that he loved living in northern Nevada, and thoroughly enjoyed his work.
