Extended Studies marketing team wins four national awards

The University's Extended Studies marketing team won one silver and three bronze awards for best marketing practices and promotional pieces in the 2007 Marketing and Publications Awards Program sponsored by the University Continuing Education Association.

Awards will be presented during UCEA's annual conference, April 11-14, in Vancouver, B.C. The University competed in the "over 25,000" division; other award winners in the division included continuing education departments from Boston University, Brigham Young University, UCLA, UC Berkeley, University of Missouri, The University of Texas at Austin, New York University, Texas Tech University and University of Virginia.

The University of Nevada's winning entries were produced by the university's Extended Studies marketing department, directed by Kimberly Zaski, and including Andrea Turman, marketing specialist; Martin Morales and John Morrow, senior graphic designers; Sarah Purdy, publications editor; and Danielle Gann-Lind, database specialist.

Extended Studies won a silver award in the poster category for Nevada Repertory Company's Summer 2006 production of 'Epic Proportions'; bronze awards in two print publications categories for the 2007 Independent Learning Catalog and the 2006-07 Performing Arts Series booklet; and a bronze award in print advertising for a Professional Development Program ad in Silver and Blue magazine.

Founded in 1915, UCEA is among the oldest college and university associations in the U.S., and is the principal U.S. organization for continuing higher education. Awards are given to colleges and universities throughout North America.
