Donaldson wins Distinguished Outreach Faculty Award

Distinguished Outreach Faculty Award:
The award honors a faculty member for sustained contributions to the outreach mission of both the related academic unit and the university. Awardees, who receive a $5,000 honorarium, are also recognized for fostering collaboration through their activities.

Susan Donaldson was recognized for her contributions in outreach through programs that address pressing water quality issues via educational programs. She currently serves as Water Quality Education Specialist for the Western Area Cooperative Extension in Nevada.

In addition, Donaldson has coordinated the Small Ranch Water Quality Program since 1994, providing one-on-one assistance to small acreage owners. Her work with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's Nonpoint Source has been deemed an invaluable and effective component of the Pollution Management Program education/outreach efforts for the past 13 years.

In 2003, Dr. Donaldson co-authored a Watershed Protection Plan for the Truckee River Tributaries that is currently undergoing implementation.
