Brian Passalacqua, M.D., joins School of Medicine's Family and Community Medicine Department

The University of Nevada School of Medicine and its multispecialty clinical practice, University Health System, announce the arrival of Brian Passalacqua, M.D., to its clinical and teaching ranks.

Dr. Passalacqua's presence in the Family Medicine Center will enhance our ability to serve patients, especially those expecting the arrival of a baby, said Daniel Spogen, M.D., chairman of the School's Family and Community Medicine Department in Reno. He will also bring to the department private practice experience that will be important to improve our practice plan efficiency.

Passalacqua's background is in obstetrics where he practiced for several years with a multispecialty practice followed by several more years with a single specialty family practice group. More recent positions include working in an office with an electronic medical record and part-time in a rural Nevada emergency room.

He graduated from University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine's Family and Community Medicine Department.

Passalacqua's career has come full circle after 14 years in private practice as he returns to the School of Medicine and University Health System where he will see patients, deliver babies and teach medical students and residents.
