The University of Nevada (19-15) baseball team won its 11th consecutive home game defeating Pacific (7-23-1) 5-1 in a nonconference match up at Peccole Park in Reno, Nev. Tuesday evening.  With the victory the Wolf Pack improve to 19-15 on the season while the Tigers dropped to 7-23-1.  The two teams split the four games played this season.

The Tigers scored in the top of the third inning to take a 1-0 lead.  Shortstop Josh Powers singled and scored on right fielder Joe Oliveira's RBI double.  That would be the only scoring for Pacific as Nevada tallied the next five runs in the game.

In the bottom of the fifth inning the Pack took the lead scoring a pair of runs.  Second baseman David Ciarlo, and center fielder Jason Sadoian both walked to get the inning started.  A bunt single by first baseman Shaun Kort loaded the bases for designated hitter Terry Walsh.  Walsh forced the run home with his walk and the game was tied.  Following a pitching change catcher Baker Krukow's sacrifice fly put the Pack ahead to stay 2-1.

Two more Pack runs in the bottom of the sixth inning made the score 4-1.  Third baseman Tyson Jaquez doubled and Trevor O'Sullivan pinch ran.  A single by shortstop Chris Siewert put runners on the corners.  Ciarlo drove home the run on a ground ball as Siewert was retired at second base.  A failed pickoff attempt allowed Ciarlo to advance to second base on the throwing error where he scored on Sadoian's double.  The final run scored in the bottom of the seventh.  Krukow singled advanced to second on sacrifice bunt and scored on O'Sullivan's RBI double to make the final score 5-1.

Jordan Salazar(1-0) the second Pack pitcher used in the game earned his first win in the Silver & Blue tossing a scoreless fifth inning.  Kody Keroher(4) pitched three perfect innings retiring all nine hitters he faced to record his fourth save of the season.  Erik Hamren(0-1) allowed the two runs in the fifth and was tagged with the loss.

Kort(2-for-4) and right fielder Dan Eastham (2-for-3) tied for game high honors with two hits each.  Sadoian, Walsh, O'Sullivan, Krukow, and Ciarlo each drove in a run.  Five different Pacific players collected a hit in the game and Oliveira drove in the Tigers run in the game.

The Pack next host Western Athletic Conference leading Fresno State in the first game of a three-game series on April 5 at 6 p.m.
