The work of the Nevada Center for Ethics & Health Policy is vital to the health care of Nevada. NCEHP was the first to address the ethical issues surrounding the Hepatitis C outbreak in Las Vegas, bringing together Nevada’s major health care players to examine and address the causes of the issue; we created the NVLivingWill.com website providing all Nevadans easy-to-complete advance directives; over the years, we have provided information critical to several pieces of health care legislation over the years; we’ve toured rural areas collecting information about their concerns and presented a symposium focused on rural health ethics, which then spawned a book, Ethical Issues in Rural Health Care. Where would we be without the Nevada Center for Ethics and Health Policy?
Sadly, we may soon find out. Our current economic situation has resulted in severe budget cuts to NCEHP, threatening our continued existence. Without further funding we will be unable to continue our legislative mandate to provide health ethics education to our medical providers and Nevada communities. Without contributions from those we serve, students in our very popular and important Health Care Ethics Minor and Certificate programs will be unable to complete programs that prepare them for the ethical hurdles ahead; we will be unable to provide conferences, speakers and other information and materials to hospitals, hospices and families who face critical ethical challenges and without the support of our communities, our research on end of life issues, health care policy and rural issues will come to an end.
We’ve supported Nevada all these years. We would like to ask you for your support at this critical time. Your contribution will help the Center continue its important work, for you.
We're sending out an SOS - please help Save our Center! As a non-profit, your donations are fully tax-deductible. Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated.
