Documentation of the last date of attendance is required by NSHE, state, and federal agencies. If a student is receiving a grade of "W," "F," "I," or "U," please populate the last date of attendance to the best of your knowledge. If the student never attended or attended the entire term, you may select the appropriate checkbox. The University has added a tool to the Grade Roster to record this information.
Access your grade roster and ensure that you have selected Final Grade as your Grade Roster Type.
When selecting a grade of "W," "I," "F," or "U," instructors will now be led to the Last Date Attended page to input the appropriate information.
If an instructor selects Fully Attended, the Last Date of Attendance will auto-populate with the date of the last day of classes of that semester.
If an instructor selects Partially Attended, they will be prompted to select a date that will be designated as the Last Date of Attendance. The instructor may input the numerical date and it will be reformatted into the format MM/DD/YYYY, or they may click on the calendar button to select a date.
If an instructor selects Never Attended, the Last Date of Attendance will auto-populate with the date before the first day of classes of that semester.
If a student is assigned a grade of Incomplete, the instructor cannot select the option Never Attended. The system will show the following message if this is attempted.
After inputting the appropriate information for Last Date of Attendance and clicking OK to proceed, you will notice that a Last Date of Attendance tab will appear on your Grade Roster.
On this tab, you can see which students have been assigned a Final Grade of "W," "I," "F," or "U," and therefore have been associated with a Last Date Attended. Clicking on Last Date Attended allows you to view and change the Last Date Attended that was input. The option of viewing and changing the Last Date Attended is available even after you have already posted the Final Grades.
