We are an interdisciplinary graduate student body representing five departments: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology.

We are here to represent our graduate students and provide you with unique networking and educational opportunities. We hope you’ll join us to make new friends, network with faculty and visiting PIs, engage in our symposium series and make the most of your graduate student experience.

Goals

  • Promote and enhance interaction among students, faculty and staff
  • Foster the recruitment and welcoming of new all graduate students
  • Serve as student ambassadors to visiting faculty
  • Participate in research, scholarship, and outreach to local communities

Dean Burkin Lab Work

MBGSF Seminar Series

Our members work with their principal investigators to bring external speakers to the University, allowing graduate students the opportunity to network with a wider group of scientists and stay informed of current research and technology.

Student Presenter

MBGSF Annual Symposium

This unique event provides a platform for upper-level graduate students to present their current research and serve as ambassadors for their labs while incoming students have the opportunity to discover the lab rotation possibilities. This annual event occurs in August and will draw crowds of over 100 people.
