The Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, College of Science, at the University of Nevada, Reno is actively seeking motivated young men and women who are interested in a challenging and rewarding education leading to careers in earth science or the related engineering fields. Degree Programs in: Mackay uses its scholarship resources strategically to attract the best and brightest to the School. Mackay believes in supporting its deserving students with scholarships and pursues an aggressive policy of distributing scholarship funds.
If you are applying as a new freshman or transfer student, completing the University of Nevada, Reno application for admission is also the scholarship application. Students must have their application, ACT and/or SAT test scores, and official high school transcript on file with Admissions and Records by February 1 each year in order to be considered for scholarships. In order to be considered for a Mackay scholarship, you must list one of Mackay's degree programs in the space labeled: "Major" on the application (Geography, Geological Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Hydrogeology, or Mining Engineering). Your application will then be forwarded from the UNR Admissions Office to Mackay for scholarship consideration. For continuing students, the scholarship application is on the University's website. Please complete scholarship application by February 1 of each year in order to be considered for University and Mackay-specific scholarships.
