Where is the Math Center located?
The Math Center tutoring and computer lab is located in the Ansari
Business Building (AB) room 610. The adminstrative offices are
located in AB 639.
What services are available at the Math Center?
The Math Center provides a number of serives for students and facutly.
Free walk in tutoring is available for 100-200 level math/stat
courses. The computer lab is designed to help students with their
more techniqual work. Therefore the 30 work stations are
equipped with mathematical and statistical software packages.
Faculty are also allowed to occasssionally reserved this lab for
class meetings, conferences, etc.
The Math Centers also proctors and number exams, including all math placement testing on campus.
offers walk-in tutoring for math/stat courses. It also offers math placement
tests that students can take to meet prerequisites for math courses they otherwise do not meet. The Math
Center's Computer Lab in AB610 has several math software programs, and the lab
can be reserved for class use, conferences, etc. by making a reservation in advance by calling (775)784-4433, or
by e-mailing mathcenter@unr.edu. Please note that the Math Center
tutors are not trained to help with the use of software.

How do I rent calculators?
The
Math Center allows students to rent calculators for $20 per semester.
Students need to fill out a form and pay the fee at the Cashier's
Office before they can get the calculator from the Math Center.

How can I find a private tutor?
The Math/Stat Department in AB 601 keeps a list of people who offer
their services as private tutors.
What software is available at the Math Center?
The computers run Windows XP Professional and have the following software installed:
In addition, the DataWorks offers programs such as Comsol, Maple 10, MathCAD 13, Mathematica 5.2, Matlab, R 2.4, Minitab, SAS 9.1, and SPSS v14. You can log in to the server using your netID.
