Admission to the graduate program

 

Admission Deadlines

Our admissions are on a rolling basis, but students whishing to obtain a teaching assistantship are strongly encouraged to have all their application material submitted by

  • March 1 for a fall semester admission.
  • November 1 for a spring semester admission.

Course Requirements

The following are required for anyone wishing to apply to our Master's program. Applicants must have completed either:

  • The equivalent of Math 181 (Differential Calculus of one variable)
      Math 182 (Integral Calculus of one variable),
      Math 283 (Multivariable Calculus),
      Math 330 (Linear Algebra), and
      Math 310 (Real Analysis).






    or


  • Hold a BA or BS degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics  from an accredited university.

Application Materials

Transcripts and Letter(s) of recommendation

Each applicant must submit

  • Official transcripts from each undergraduate institution attended. Transcripts must NOT be sent by the applicant, but rather come from the school directly.
  • At least one letter of recommendation

GRE and TOEFL

All applicants are required to submit official GRE scores. We do not require the mathematics subject test, only the GRE general exam.

Candidates whose native language is not English must submit official TOEFL scores. Please see the Graduate School's website for required minimum scores.
