Foreign Language:
Students must successfully complete a fourth semester college course in a foreign language or demonstrate proficiency as determined by placement examination, or other means, by the Department of Foreign Language and Literatures. The Department of Mathematics suggests that students choose French, Russian, or German as their required language.

Additional Social Science Course - 3 credits
Select an additional course from the Core Curriculum Social Sciences list. This course must be from a different department that the first social sciences course.

Humanities - 3 credits
Select a humanities course from the departments of history, philosophy, english or foreign languages and literatures at the 200-level or above. This course must be from a different department than the student's major or minor. Contact advisor for approved courses.

III. Major Requirements - 42 credits

Math 181, Calculus I - 4 credits
Math 182, Calculus II - 4 credits
Math 283, Calculus III - 4 credits
Math 285, Differential Equations - 3 credits
Math 310, Introduction to Analysis I - 3 credits
Math 311, Introduction to Analysis II - 3 credits
Math 330, Linear Algebra I - 3 credits
Math/Stat 461, Probability Theory - 3 credits
Math 485, Graph Theory and Combinatorics - 3 credits
Math 486, Game Theory - 3 credits
Math 487, Deterministic Operations Research - 3 credits
Additional mathematics or statistics courses numbered 300 or above (except Math/Stat 352). - 6 credits.

IV. Minor Requirements
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics accepts any minor from any other department at UNR.

V. Electives 10 - 18 credits

Forty (40) or more credits must be in courses numbered 300 or above.
