The Sociocultural Context
Of Schooling

Course Description:
Examines multicultural issues within a broad sociocultural context, focusing on personal and cultural frames of reference for understanding.

Improvements to the Course:
Elavie will be doing several things to improve her course:

1. Master the use of PowerPoint and convert her lectures, where she has been using overhead transparencies, to PowerPoint presentations.

2. Improve her overall computer skills, concentrating on file management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.

3. Begin a Web page for an on-campus student organization where she serves as faculty advisor.

4. Have students prepare power point presentations for their group projects.

5. Create a website for the class to make the materials more accessible to students and others who are interested.

6. Record students' cultural presentations on a digital camera and post them on the class website.

7. Write a reflective paper about my experiences with technology in the class.
