Each
semester five faculty in the College of Education are accepted
as Learning Links Faculty Fellows. Using this application,
interested faculty propose specific, observable changes
to an undergraduate teacher education course that will
result in increased use of technology in that course by
both the faculty member and the students. Applications
should include information on (a) what technology will
be used; (b) how delivery of course content will be modified;
(c) how assignments and projects will use technology; (d)
how the infusion of technology into teaching and learning
will be modeled.
What do the Fellows get?
From among the applicants, the Learning Links Committee
selects the fellows to participate each semester. Incentives
for participation include a course release, individualized
support from Learning Links personnel, $1,000.00 for hardware
and software upgrades that relate directly to the course
modifications, and up to $1,000.00 travel funding for presenting
a grant related paper at the SITE conference next spring
in Albuquerque. All faculty in the UNR College of Education
have an opportunity and are encouraged to participate in
the Faculty Fellows program.
What are the Fellowship requirements?
Faculty Fellows are required to attend and present at
the Learning Links Technology Symposium in the fall, collaborate
with a Master Teacher, and participate in grant assessment
activities, which include classroom observations, online
testing, submission of course materials such as syllabi
or relevant class assignments, and a written report of
Fellowship related activities. Applicants who are selected
will be expected to submit a photograph for posting on
the Project Learning Links Web site.
To be considered for a University of Nevada, Reno Project
Learning Links Faculty Fellowship, please submit this application
by May 15 for fall semester fellowships and November 2
for spring semester fellowships.
