Digital Weekend of Workshops

Project Learning Links would like to invite you to the Digital Weekend Of Workshops (W.O.W.) at the University of Nevada, Reno. The W.O.W will be held on April 23-24 in the College of Education located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. These workshops will focus on digital technology, centering on digital photography and digital video. We anticipate this being a highly attended event and due to the hands-on nature of the workshops, seating is extremely limited. Please review the on-line schedule for a complete listing of presenters, topics, and workshop descriptions. When you have decided which workshops you would like to attend, please complete and print the PDF On-line Digital W.O.W. Registration Form and mail it to the address located at the bottom of the registration form.

The value of these workshops is over $350, but through Project Learning Links we are able to offer this wonderful opportunity to you for a nominal fee of $45 per participant for the entire weekend of workshops. Your registration fee will cover the costs of the workshops, breakfast, lunch, beverages, and snacks for the two-day event. Due to on-line security issues, Internet registration will not be available. Only checks and purchase orders will be accepted. Most demonstrations will be capped at a maximum of 15 people, so please respond promptly to guarantee a spot in a workshop that you will never forget. Workshop Topic Descriptions

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0
Have you always wanted to learn to enhance your digital images using Adobe Photoshop? This is your chance to learn the fundamentals of this powerful digital editing program. In this workshop you will be using Photoshop Elements 2.0, which allows you to do most things you could do with the full-blown Photoshop software, but at a significantly reduced price. Photoshop Elements has the majority of tools that the average user would ever need to enhance a digital image for print, e-mail, or the Web. This workshop will be presented by a master digital artist who will teach you how to use the basic Photoshop tools as well as demonstrate some of the refinement techniques used by the pros. If you intend to attend this workshop, you should bring digital or print images that you want to enhance or modify. Adobe Premiere
Adobe Premiere is a video editing application that runs on the Windows XP Platform. This software will allow you to make professional quality movies by utilizing features such as real time video editing, multiple – nestable timelines, audio editing and more. Adobe Premier gives you the option of importing and working with a multitude of audio and video formats such as MPEG 1 and 2, DV, AVI and all Windows Media Series files. Digital Photography
In this workshop you will learn some fundamentals of photography from Professor Peter Goin, an internationally renowned photographer, and be sent on a photo shoot with a state-of-the-art Canon digital camera. Your photos will be printed on the spot and critiqued by Professor Goin. The theme of the workshop is “Photography as a Language.” Professor Goin has teamed with Canon USA to present this rare opportunity. You will be able to handle and use some of Canon’s latest digital cameras and printers and will be able to consult with Canon representatives about your digital photography needs. Camtasia Studio
