POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR COURT ADMINISTRATOR

November 28, 2005

The THIRD JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT is accepting applications for the position of COURT ADMINISTRATOR 3. This is an unclassified full-time position which works under administrative direction from the Chief Judge, manages all administrative activities and facilities of a district court, including the management of court programs and the clerk's office, human resource management, fiscal administration, budgeting, and speaking before legislative and local government bodies.

Salary range is between $57,696 and $68,514 annually depending on qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or related field, with seven (7) years of advanced managerial experience that includes budgeting, finance, procurement, human resources and contracts administration, including three years of supervisory experience. Experience may be substituted for education. (One year of experience equals 30 semester hours.) Education may not substitute for supervisory experience.
* Knowledge of the legislative process; general accounting and financial standards, including performance based budgeting; information systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, financial and budgeting software; State Procurement Code; general construction, building, and renovation practices; and management and customer service practices.
* Knowledge of state statutes, rules and opinions is required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word Perfect and other court related computer software programs.
* The ability to research statutes or law on disk.
* The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. A writing sample will need to be submitted.

The Law and Society Association’s (LSA) 11th Summer Institute will take place in Oxford, England, from June 29-July 3, 2005. The Institute will be co-sponsored by the Oxford Centre for Socio-Legal Studies and the Oxford Faculty of Law. The Summer Institute is designed for advanced graduate students and junior faculty in any discipline who are engaged in law and society research or research in socio-legal studies and who seek opportunities to share research in progress with colleagues and more senior scholars in an intensive 3 day workshop setting.
