| Jean Dixon, professional photographer, and Katie Palani, professional student, undertook this project to show how the landscapes and urbanscapes of the Tahoe Basin have changed over the years. Many thanks to the UNR Special Collections department for furnishing all of the historic photos, and to Peter Goin for letting us use his Tahoe images shot in the early 1990s. Enjoy! |

Field Notes
Since Glenbrook is gated, Jean parked and hiked around to find the best location to photograph the pier. Luckily, in the-off season, the gate wasn't manned, and the property that provided the best vantage point was for sale and unoccupied. |

History
| Glenbrook found its beginning in the timber boom in the late 1800s, with the New Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Company, with Duane Bliss at the helm. The operation petered out in the late 1890s after a 25-year run that depleted the timber supply. Today, Glenbrook is a private, gated community. |
