Peavine Mountain

Lake Tahoe isn't northern Nevada's only treasure. Wildlife, rare plants, historic artifacts and new housing developments all share the parts of Peavine Mountain. Peavine is a 8,266-foot-high mountain (actually, a small mountain chain) which is located northwest of Reno.

This is your chance to explore Peavine and to meet some of its neighbors. We hope you learn to enjoy the mountain's assets. We also hope that you discover ways to protect the mountain for future explorers.

In spring 2006, students in an online reporting class at the Reynolds School of Journalism documented Peavine stakeholders, creating nonlinear multimedia slideshows intended to foster discovery. Students in a game theory class engaged in the experiment of doing journalism through video games that entertain and educate. This site is a presentation of the students' work.
