Why I teach:

I love interaction with students. That’s why I get out of bed each day. I love to see kids who are challenged reach down inside themselves and realize that they have all of 'this' inside of themselves and to see it manifest itself.

What I’ve learned:

• We don’t grow at the same rate. We don’t grow at the times people think we should grow.

• A job should not be all-consuming.

• Hiking, biking and things you do in your down time are just as important, if not more so, than your job.

• People are precious commodities.

• It’s not easy to be a father and it’s even more difficult to be a parent.

• I’ve learned the importance of giving and having a giving spirit.

• Mothers are smarter than we sometimes give them credit for being.

• If you have a problem, face it, fix it and forget it.

• My church and my church family are very important to me.

• It’s important to be tough on students even when they don’t understand why. They know that I’m going to tell them the truth and I think that’s why a lot of them come to me.
