• Jour 102: News Reporting and Writing
• Jour 203: Writing Across Media
. Jour 305: Media Ethics

Why I teach:

Journalism can have a profound impact on both public policy and private decision-making. I want to enlarge the pool of smart, ethical people who practice it well.

What I’ve learned:

• The First Amendment is worth fighting for.

• Watchdog journalism is more than a catchy phrase. It's our most important responsibility.

• Exposing wrongdoing and injustice is immensely satisfying. So is celebrating individual and community success.

• We need to work harder to reflect the diversity in our communities.

• You can never care too much about getting the story right.
