| The mission of the Reynolds
School of Journalism ... |
... is
to teach its students to think critically and to apply that
thinking to the collection, organization and communication
of information through the public media. Analytical thinking
is essential to clear writing, which is at the heart of good
journalism. It is also reflected in other forms of communication
that are accurate, relevant, creative and coherent. |
The
development of these critical thinking skills occurs within
a context of preparation for careers in journalism, mass
communication and related fields, and for graduate study.
Beyond career objectives, however, the Reynolds School of
Journalism seeks to equip its graduates to function successfully
in an increasingly complex world and to contribute to the
betterment of their environment. |
