Our Alumni

Our alumni include these six Pultizer prize-winning graduates:
Ron Einstoss   Susan Forrest
(Class of 1955) In 1966, Einstoss won a Pulitzer Prize while a reporter for the Los Angeles Times.
(Class of 1982) Forrest won a Pulitzer Prize for general news reporting at the Lawrence (Mass.) Eagle-Tribune. She later worked as a reporter for New York Newsday.
Kristen Go
Warren Lerude
(Class of 1998) As a member of the reporting team of the Denver Post, Go and her co-workers won the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Columbine High School shootings in 1999. She is now a reporter for the Arizona Republic. (Class of 1961) As head of an editorial-writing team at the Nevada State Journal and Reno Evening Gazette, Lerude won a Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing in 1977. He has been teaching at the Reynolds School of Journalism since 1981.
Ed Montgomery
James “Howard” Sheerin
(Class of 1934) Montgomery won a Pulitzer Prize for distinguished local reporting for the San Francisco Examiner in 1951.
(Class of 1931) While at the Watsonville (Calif.) Register-Pajaronian, Sheerin won a Pulitzer Prize for public service in 1956.
