Clear Java Cache - Mac

If an online Java application starts behaving unusually, it can be a good idea to clear the cache of temporary files that Java stores (you may want to do this in conjunction with clearing your browser's temporary files).

  1. Launch System Preferences.System Preferences Icon
  2. In the section labeled "Other" click on Java.Java Control Panel Icon
  3. A separate window will launch. Under the section labeled "Temporary Internet Files" click on Settings...Settings Button
  4. In the window that appears, click on Delete Files...Delete Files Button
  5. Ensure that Trace and Log Files and Cached Application and Applets are checked, and then click OK.Delete Files and Applications
  6. When the small window disappears, the cache has been cleared.
