Allowing Java - Internet Explorer
After installing Java on your computer, you will need to enable it to work in Internet Explorer.
The first time you launch Internet Explorer after installing Java, a message will appear at the bottom of the browser window. Click on Enable to activate Java.
Then, for each website you visit wanting to run Java, another message will appear asking you to allow the Java component to run. Click on Allow only if you trust the website (all University-supported applications should be considered trustworthy).
Next, if you are not running the latest version of Java (which is quite likely on a University-owned computer), you will be warned of the potential insecurity of your Java version.
- Check the Do not ask again... button at the bottom of the window
- Click on Later as long as you trust the website you are asking.
Finally, you will asked if you want to run the specific application. As long as you trust the site, check the box next to Always trust content... and click on Run.
