Software Specs

The Grid has a large number of computational software titles available.

Collective Grid Specs

  • 149 computer nodes, with a total of 720 CPU Cores.
  • Combined 1828 Gigabytes of RAM.
  • 24 Terabyte NAS.

The Core Cluster

The Core Cluster of the University Research Grid is composed of Sun Fire X4100, X4140, X4200, and X4600 servers as computer nodes. A Sun Fire X4600 is used as the cluster's backend and a Sun Fire X4500 "Thumper" is used as the cluster's disk array. The Core cluster shows up as racks 0-4 in Ganglia.

  • 109 computer nodes, with a total of 640 CPU Cores.
  • Combined 1668 Gigabytes of RAM.
  • 24 Terabyte NAS.

The LMR Cluster

The LMR Cluster is an older cluster of Sun Fire v20z nodes that was incorporated into the Research Grid. The LMR Cluster shows up as racks 40-41 in Ganglia.

  • 40 computer nodes, with a total of 80 CPUs.
  • 160 Gigabytes of RAM.
