To find the warranty information of your Dell computer, you must first locate the Service Tag (serial number) of the computer.
Generally, if the "Provider" of the warranty is UNY then the computer is on record as being owned by UNR. If the provider does not say "UNY", but you know the computer to be owned by the University, then the IT department will need to see proof of purchase before service is provided.
Equipment can be transferred to UNR ownership. Or, the IT department can open a call directly to Dell for any warrant service needed. Contact IT Support for more information.
