Mac Users

We have provided separate instructions for Video Conferencing in Lync for Mac.

It is possible to convert your text-based instant message into an audio/video conference (assuming you have a webcam and microphone installed on your computer).

Before you take part in an audio/video conference, it is a good idea to configure your settings to make sure your webcam and microphone are correctly adjusted.

  1. In the main Lync window, click the Options "Gear" icon.Options Icon

Audio Setup

  1. From the list on the left, select Audio Device.Audio Device
  2. Go through the settings to ensure that the correct microphone and speakers are selected. The gauges and "test" buttons should help you to decide whether everything is configured correctly.Configure Microphone
  3. We recommend clicking on Check Call Quality to call the automated Lync attendant. You can then record a small message which will be played back to you so that you can hear how well your microphone has been set up.Check Call Quality
