The quickest way to get in touch with a Lync user around the University is to add them as a contact in Lync. By doing so, you will be able to easily see their status and start a conversation with them. Your contacts list is the default screen when you start Lync, and is tied to your account - it doesn't matter how or where you access Lync, your contacts list will be the same.
For ease of navigation through the many contacts you will no doubt add, Lync also allows you to group contacts into "Contact Groups". Additionally, each contact comes with a contact card that provides further information on who the contact is, where they are located, and different methods by which you can contact them.
