E-mail, Phone and Communications

Did you know?

Over 75% of visitors to the IT website just want to know how to access their University email from off-campus. Here is the link:

Through many miles of cable, a lot of servers all over campus, and one small black box that plays the "on hold" music all day long, the IT department are able to provide you with the e-mails, phone calls, and conferencing tools that help you send and receive messages throughout the University and around the world.

Every employee of the University is entitled to an e-mail address. Additionally, most employees have access to an office phone that can make long distance calls and voicemail that can be accessed from anywhere. None of these options are created automatically, therefore this section should tell you how to request them.

Unfortunately, due to prohibitive license costs, students are unable to get a University e-mail address. Therefore, we recommend using a third-party system for your student e-mail needs. Additionally, you can get a discount on your cell phone bill for being a member of the University of Nevada, Reno.

A comprehensive guide to everything you need to know about e-mail at the University.
