Summer 2: The Bioprep Workshop
  • Students attend 5-week workshop at either CSN or TMCC (GBC and WNC students see below*) the summer before their college sophomore year
  • Students are awarded $1,200 each for successfully completing the workshop
  • All workshop materials, books, etc. are paid for by the program
  • The workshop will prepare students to succeed in life science majors courses taken Sophomore year by teaching students how to develop and test hypotheses, design experiments, evaluate data, and write scientific reports
  • The workshop will include hands-on laboratory experiences and will cover important concepts that students often struggle with, such as molecular genetics and gene expression

*GBC students accepted into the program are eligible for free on-campus housing at UNR while attending workshops at TMCC. WNC students are eligible for free tutoring at the TMCC Redfield campus
