Bioinformatics Group at University of Nevada, Las Vegas

UNLV Biology Bioinformatics Group's primary goal is to accelerate biological research at UNLV and UNR by assisting faculty with the application of computing to biological problems. We will identify ways to apply bioinformatic methods to research problems, provide individual and group training, and assist in experimental design and data analysis.

We can also provide basic scripting and programming support in multiple languages and operating systems, and act as a point of contact between biology and the high-performance computing environments provided by the NSCEE and OSC.

UNLV Bioinformatics Core personnel consist of Dr. Jeffrey Shen and Dr. Christian Ross.

Our computing resources consist of a 2.8GHz Quad-Opteron workstation running Fedora Linux, and access to the Itanium-2 Cluster, SGI Onyx and Sun Enterprise Cluster at the NSCEE.
