HOW TO APPLY |
If you wish to study English as a Second Language at the University of Nevada, Reno you must meet the following admission criteria and complete steps 1-5 below:
• 16 years of age (if under the age of 16 please contact our office for special circumstances and/or programs)
• Non-native English speaker
Complete the application form. Be sure to complete all items, including signatures.
Enclose $50.00 application fee (non-refundable). Please make check payable to “Board of Regents”, or you may fill out the credit card information below:

Acceptance materials are sent via airmail (no tracking), however, if you would like your acceptance papers sent by express mail (tracking available) please include a check or authorize the an additional fee be charged to your credit card. (Street Address, Postal Code and Telephone Number are required for Express Mail.)

Enclose documentary evidence (original documents from a bank or financial institution) noting that at least the equivalent of $16,935.00 U.S. dollars is available for your expenses for one academic year. Your document may show less if you wish to study for less than one year. You will need a second original to take to the U.S. embassy/consulate.

Conditional Admission: Conditional Admission to the University of Nevada, Reno means that you will be admitted to the University after you complete the English admission requirement. You do not have to apply for Conditional Admission to attend the Intensive English Language Center: You may apply for an academic program after you enroll in the Intensive English program. |
If you wish to apply for Conditional Admission to the University of Nevada, Reno please follow the additional steps below: (TOEFL SCORE IS NOT REQUIRED FOR A CONDITIONAL ADMISSION)
Official transcripts containing a proper signature, date and institutional seal must be mailed directly from the school or college issuing the transcripts to the “Mail to” address above. You will need official high school (secondary school) transcripts showing graduation or equivalent, and college or university transcripts from all institutions attended. These transcripts are required whether or not credits will be transferred. Transcripts in any language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation containing the proper signatures, dates, and institutional seals to be official.
Enclose documentary evidence (original documents from a bank or financial institution) noting that at least the equivalent of $26,000.00 in U.S. dollars is available for your expenses for one academic year. You will need a second original to take to U.S. embassy/consulate. You do not need to do #3 above.
Enclose a check or money order for US $145.00 made out to “Board of Regents”, (non-refundable application fees for the Intensive English Program and conditional admission) or complete credit card information above.
