A warm hello from the Intensive English Language Center here at the University of Nevada, Reno! I’d like to thank you for your interest in our program and invite you to browse through the information here about the English program, the university, and the Reno-Tahoe area. I think you will find that the Intensive English Language Center offers an excellent educational experience in an ideal location, here in the beautiful American west.

I am happy that you have decided to seek a learning experience overseas. International education is one of the most important ways that we as citizens of the world can share our cultures, values and outlooks with each other. After 20 years as an English teacher, I firmly believe that people gain their most valuable insights about the world through one-to-one exchange. Language programs provide ideal sites for this type of learning; in striving to improve your English, you will share information about yourself while you find out about your classmates. At this time in our history, it is especially important that we reach out to each other to dispel misconceptions and enrich our knowledge of the world. Living in the United States, studying English, and meeting classmates from around the world is an ideal way to begin this journey.
