Search and Recruitment
A current administrative faculty member may apply for a faculty position through a competitive search. If hired for the position, the employee may negotiate salary provided the position is at a higher range than their current role.
Whether an employee is eligible for merit, is dependent these two factors: (1) whether the new position involves an increase in range and an increase in salary and (2) the timing of the hire.
If an existing employee is hired through a competitive search into a new position between July 1 and June 30 and it includes a range change and salary increase, then they are not eligible for a merit increase the following fiscal year. If the position does not include the range and salary increase then they are eligible for merit.
If the position is at a lesser rank or range, the employee may or may not remain at the same salary.
