The following retirement seminars are offered on a regular basis by the Benefits Office.

Reviews the features and benefits of the 401(a) plan, general fund information, and ways for employees to access the plan such as web, voice response, participant hotlines and 1x1 Counseling.
Participants should walk away understanding the steps required of them to make the most of their mandatory retirement plan.

This seminar offers a way to decide which funds are appropriate. Employees first learn about mutual funds and how they operate. Next they are introduced to a system that helps them decide which kind of investors they are and what type of mutual funds fit their investment needs. Finally they learn how to measure the success of a mutual fund.
Participants should walk away understanding what kind of risk tolerance they have; basics on mutual funds and finally how to evaluate and measure the different funds.
Audience: All Employees (TSA & RPA)

This seminar focuses in on the different sources of income a person has in retirement, including the limitations of SS for University employees, and the impact inflation will have on purchasing power. We then discuss the power of compounding and look at the voluntary savings plans available to NSHE employees.
Participants will walk away understanding the sources of income they will access in retirement and the impact inflation will have on their funds. They will understand how the voluntary retirement plans available at UNR can supplement their income and how to enroll.

Provides a detailed overview of the funds available through the three plan sponsors. It explains the importance of asset allocation, different fund categories, and how this information can be used to create a sound retirement strategy. Also talks about tools for monitoring and managing portfolios.

An update on market conditions for the year, where the market is headed and a look back at historical conditions.

This seminar is design for employees who are 0 – 5 years out from retirement. It is a discussion of all the items that they should consider as they near retirement, where they will access the information they need, as well as the steps they should take in order to be properly prepared for retirement. This seminar will discuss Phase-In Retirement and Retiree Health Insurance.
Audience: All Faculty Employees (on RPA) 0 – 5 Years from Retirement
