Amanda Chavez

Resident Director for Sierra Hall

Hello Everyone! My name is Amanda Chavez and I'm so excited to start my first year at UNR as the Resident Director for Sierra Hall for the 2016-2017 academic year! Here's a little bit about me! I was born and raised in Bakersfield, Ca and for the past 6 years I have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Biology at Dominican University of California in San Rafael, Ca and I was able to complete my Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at the University of San Francisco. Additionally, while working on my Master's degree, I maintained an internship at Holy Names University in Oakland, Ca and worked in the areas of campus life and residence life. I enjoy embracing my Latino culture through music, dance, singing, food, and laughter. I have a love for being creative and crafty, but I also enjoy the wonders of the outdoors and exploring new areas. For fun, I like going to the movies, shopping at target, and going to farmer's or flee markets. When I want to relax, you can find me binge watching my favorite TV shows and baking new paleo recipes. I'm so excited to meet all of you and I know that this will be a great year!
